So we are trying something new and really fun.

Jen, Roma and I were supposed to be away in Mid-April and Manhattan Rep was scheduled to be 80% dark, but some extenuating family issues now require us to stick around, so as I mentioned above, we are trying something new and really fun:

Manhattan Rep's 1st Annual Play Party

Over the course of two weeks in April, we will be presenting upwards of 12 NEW short plays 40 to 60 minutes in length, each play getting a minimum of 3 performances and we are offering MORE rehearsal time (in the theatre you will be performing in) than ever before, and at reasonable times - Weeknights and Weekends ( NO 9 to 5 rehearsal! - for some of us regretfully have day jobs!)  And as ever you can store your props and costumes from your first tech rehearsal until closing night. And there will be no security deposit or audience minimum, just a low-priced participation fee to insure your participation in the Play Party.

Acceptable plays will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis which means that if we like your play we will accept it within 3 days of receiving it, so that you can have more time to prepare and get your show ready for an April Opening, which also means the sooner you submit the better your chances are to be in the PLAY PARTY.

As ever, I am super-excited.  Yeah, maybe we are not going away but, heck we're having a Party instead.

Information on how to submit and guidelines for the Play Party are below.  If you have any questions about this new PLAY PARTY process, feel free to drop me a line at

I hope you can join us.

with best regards,

Ken Wolf, Artistic Director
